Workspace Enterprises is an enterprise agency which provides advice, training and support for people starting up in business and to existing business. We also provide office space and industrial units for rent at our sites in Magherafelt, Draperstown and Castledawson. The Company must process personal data (including some sensitive personal data) so that it can provide these services – in doing so, the Company acts as a data controller and processor. Our website is www.workspace.org.uk.

You may give your personal details to the Company directly, such as on an application or registration form or via our website, or we may collect them from another source. The Company must have a legal basis for processing your personal data. For the purposes of providing you with advice, training, support and/or office/industrial unit rentals, we will only use your personal data in accordance with the terms of the following statement.

The Company will collect your personal data (which may include sensitive personal data) and will process your personal data for the purposes of providing you with advice, training and support. The legal bases we rely upon to offer these services to you are:

Where the Company has relied on a legitimate interest to process your personal data. Our legitimate interests are as follows:

  • Assisting you to develop a business plan
  • Signposting you to external support agencies
  • Providing office/industrial unit space

4. Statutory/contractual requirement

Your personal data is required by law and/or a contractual requirement. You are obliged to provide the personal data and if you do not the consequences of failure to provide the data are:

  • You will be unable to participate on any of our programmes
  • You may be unable to rent an office/industrial unit from us

  • Programme Funders
  • Other support Agencies

6. How we collect your data

The following are examples of how we collect your personal data:

  • when you register on a programmes with us
  • when you contact us to enquire about a support programme – can be via telephone, social media or through our website
  • when you contact us to enquire about office/ industrial space – can be via telephone, social media or through our website
  • submitting complaints
  • working in partnership with us
  • CCTV covering our property and land
  • face to face contact with our Business Advisor

7. Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

8. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Data Retention

The Company will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary. Different laws require us to keep different data for different periods of time.

The Company will process your personal data & sensitive personal data in line with our data retention policy. Upon expiry of that period the Company will seek further consent from you. Where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing your data and consent is not granted the Company will cease to process your personal data & sensitive personal data.

If you leave a comment on our website, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
